Agilus is recruiting for a Foreman - Sewer & Watermain in the Construction industry in Ottawa, Ontario.
Our client is looking to hire a Foreman who will be responsible for supervising and leading daily field operations for sewer and watermain construction projects.
Total rewards:

$62.98 hourly
Union Rates. LiUNA Local 527 union rate
Permanent role

A typical day:

Supervise and lead daily field operations for sewer and watermain construction projects and Coordinate and direct crew activities, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors
Plan and execute work related to storm, sanitary, and watermain installation, including services, manholes, catch basins, valves, and hydrants
Read, interpret, and execute work based on engineering drawings, specifications, and layout information and ensure work is completed in accordance with municipal standards, contract documents, and quality requirements
Coordinate utility locates, excavation, trenching, shoring, dewatering, and backfilling operations and Monitor productivity and adjust crew assignments to meet schedule and production targets
Enforce health and safety regulations, including OHSA requirements, company policies, and site-specific safety plans and conduct daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and ensure proper use of PPE
Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, inspectors, and municipal representatives and manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and traffic control setup
Identify and report site issues, design conflicts, and unforeseen conditions to project management and assist with as-built information, daily reports, and documentation of completed work
Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and tools and mentor and train crew members, promoting safe, efficient, and high-quality workmanship

Successful candidates will have:

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is an asset
5+ years of experience in sewer, watermain, and storm infrastructure construction
5+ years in a supervisory or lead foreman role overseeing field crews
Proven experience installing: Storm and sanitary sewers, Watermains and services , Manholes, catch basins, valves, and hydrants
Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects and adhering to municipal standards
Hands-on experience with excavation, trenching, shoring, dewatering, and backfilling
Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, inspectors, engineers, and municipal representatives and comfortable providing site updates, reporting issues, and escalating risks promptly
Proven track record of enforcing safety policies and procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized jobsite at all times
